The barn door is up in the bathroom!!! I still need to put crown molding around the top of the cabinet, find a handle for the door, but at least it is up!! I showed the door in progress in my Sawtooth Alder post, here is the rest of the cabinet. I used some left over AC… Continue reading Bathroom Cabinet

Wooden Pulley Wheel: Take 2
This post might more accurately be named: Wooden Pulley Wheels take 2 & 3. I had just gotten two done, started painting them when I realized there was something wrong and they were not going to work :0/
How NOT to make a Wooden Pulley Wheel
This one's for my sis...who seems to think I never fail at anything. It's not true, I fail all the time. No biggie, I just keep looking for the one way that actually works for me. Yesterday I failed at making pulley wheels for my bathroom cabinet door.....tomorrow I have a few more ways to try ;0)

Pretty much had to have it after that because my head was filled with visions of arches, ellipses,… Continue reading Curved Molding
Toy Box Construction
This is the third of the three toy boxes I put together this spring. About a week after I finished it, I looked closer and realized I had used the door stop I bought for the Library Closet Door as trim, oops! That's what happens when you're building stuff out of the "scraps" in your shop ;0)… Continue reading Toy Box Construction
Toy Boxes: Letting the Child be more Important than the Project
One of the hardest things as a parent can be letting a child "help" with something you are building for them. Over the last few weeks I have put together 3 toy boxes out of scraps from the shop for my 4 youngest kids and some of them have wanted to "help" paint. 6… Continue reading Toy Boxes: Letting the Child be more Important than the Project
