We used to have a wind row of spruce trees on the east side of our house. They unfortunately died of bark beetle infestation and stood there dead for way too long ;0) By and by we were able to arrange with a neighbor to come over and pull them down with his D9 Caterpillar.
It took an evening and part of the next morning to get the entire row down and stacked but that was one step closer to converting them into an end grain floor for the shop! Taking care of the rest is still a work in progress.
The neighbor pulled down the first few trees, but the next morning Wes was able to sit up on the cat with him and even drive it for the last smaller trees.
I’d like to say that we immediately got the trees limbed sorted into firewood, burn and log piles…but that would’t be entirely accurate. We did work hard at it until we had the last two trees left…then life happened and a few months passed before getting to the exciting part where the logs were milled into beams that I could then slice up into flooring for the shop.
